Fibrwrap UK secures further strengthening works at Lancaster University | 22/06/2015
Fibrwrap UK has been awarded the second phase of carbon fibre strengthening works at Lancaster University.
The works will be carried out to the roof beams at the university’s Farraday Building, which is currently undergoing a major refurbishment.
In 2014, Fibrwrap strengthened a series of beams at roof level to facilitate the positioning of new plant.
Following the successful completion of those initial works, Fibrwrap has been asked by the main contractor to return and strengthen more beams for a similar procedure.
The works consist of flexural strengthening using Fibrwrap’s Carbon Fibre Wrap System (FRP) as well as the installation of fire protection to the FRP using Tyfo CFP systems.
